The book journeys the photo record from the 1930s to the 1940s, before and after the atomic bomb destroyed Japan.

The book is sequenced by grouping photos in different categories in order to present the evolution of the event: before the atomic bomb exists, all the way to after the war. The book starts with America in the 1930s, then time sequence goes backwards after the explosion in 1945, bringing the perspective to the point of view in Japan, as to invoke the imagination if the atomic bomb never exists and why do people trying to hurt others rather than embracing peace.

The grouping includes the life of Americans in the 1930s and 1940s, then World War II begins, US army, the invention of the nuclear weapon and the tests, the explosion, the surrender, the disaster after the destruction of the atomic bomb, Japanese life during war times, also the life of emperor Hirohito, the era of Shōwa.

The book can also be read on both sides, which leads the reader to experience the two perspectives of America and Japan, by imitating Asian book and Western bookbinding method, a right-to-left, and a left-to-right binding, in one book.

In the middle of the book, there are graphics leading the reader to experience the explosion of the bomb, imitating the mushroom cloud, dust in the air and the flashes during the explosion, and the onomatopoeia of the explosion written in English and Japanese, which transit to the other perspective.
